Michael Owen doesn’t expect Manchester City to drop points at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Monday night.

The Citizens will make the long trip to the English capital in the final fixture in the tenth round of games in the Premier League.

Manchester City were 3-0 winners against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night to become the first English club to win at the Ukrainian club in the Champions League.

Tottenham, on the other hand, were held to a 2-2 draw with PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands after Hugo Lloris was sent off in the European clash.

The north London side are still winless in the Champions League this season following losses to Inter Milan and FC Barcelona over the past two months.

For all of Tottenham’s struggles in the Champions League, Spurs are in fifth place in the Premier League and a mere two points adrift of leaders Manchester City and Liverpool FC.

Former Liverpool FC and Manchester United striker Owen is backing Pep Guardiola’s side to ease to a win over Tottenham to further cement their title challenge.

“City are unbeaten in their last 15 Premier League games and have conceded just six times in that period and I feel they can take the points at Wembley on Monday evening,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Since Mauricio Pochettino took over as Spurs boss only Arsenal have picked up fewer points in games involving the ‘big six’ than the Lilywhites and I think the hosts will come up just short against the champions in what promises to be a hugely entertaining and informative contest.”

Manchester City were 3-1 winners against Tottenham at Wembley in their last Premier League meeting back in April.

The Citizens have won their last three games against Spurs, scoring 10 goals to exert their dominance over the north London outfit.

However, Tottenham eased to a 2-0 win in Guardiola’s first trip to White Hart Lane in October 2016 thanks to goals from Aleksandr Kolarov’s own goal and Dele Alli’s strike.

Manchester City are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and ahead of Liverpool FC on goal difference.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side could well occupy first place when Manchester City take on Tottenham on Monday night.

Liverpool FC will take on promoted side Cardiff City at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
