Tim Sherwood is backing Tottenham Hotspur to edge to a 2-1 win against Manchester United at Wembley on Wednesday night.
The north London side will welcome the Premier League’s second-placed team to the home of English football in search of three points to bolster their top-four challenge.
Tottenham have only lost one of their 12 games at Wembley in the Premier League this term after Chelsea were 2-1 winners against their bitter rivals back in August.
The Lilywhites were a tad unfortunate to lose 1-0 to Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford back in October following Anthony Martial’s 81st-minute winner.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were 2-1 winners against the Red Devils in their final Premier League game at White Hart back in May.
Former Spurs boss Sherwood is backing the north London side to make it successive home victories over Manchester United at Wembley on Wednesday night.
“Tottenham will beat Manchester United, 2-1,” Sherwood told Tag Heuer.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term and four spots behind Tottenham, who ended up as runners-up to champions Chelsea.
The Red Devils haven’t finished above Tottenham since 2014-15 when Louis van Gaal led the Manchester United to their only top-four finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
