Danny Rose drops hint about his Tottenham Hotspur future
Danny Rose hints that he could be on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur this summer
Danny Rose has hinted that he could leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
The left-back was unable to help Spurs from slumping to a 2-0 loss to Liverpool FC in the Champions League final at the start of the month and his future at the north London club remains unclear.
Rose helped England finish in third place at the Uefa Nations League tournament on Sunday as they beat Switzerland on penalties in the third-place play-off.
And the England defender has now hinted that he could be on his way out of White Hart Lane this summer.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports News, Rose said: “I don’t know what the future holds now. I’m looking forward to a break. If I’m back at Tottenham next season, great, if I’m not – great. I’ll just have to wait and see.
“It’s not about regular first-team football. I know my age and I know how the club’s run in terms of if you get to a certain age they might look to ship you on.
“It has been no secret that my name has been mentioned quite a few times in terms of players moving on and I’ll be just sitting tight over the next few weeks and just seeing what happens. Either way I’m prepared for whatever happens.”
The 28-year-old made three assists in 26 Premier League games for Spurs last season. He also featured eight times in the Champions League to help the Lilywhites reach the final in Madrid.
Tottenham will be looking to try and challenge for the Premier League title next season after they ended up in fourth place in the table under Mauricio Pochettino this term.
Spurs have not yet won a major trophy under Pochettino since his appointment at the club in May 2014.
