Martin Keown uses Arsenal example to send warning to Tottenham
The Arsenal legend warns Tottenham Hotspur about losing their best players to fund stadium move

Martin Keown has warned Tottenham Hotspur that Spurs might have to sell some players to fund their new stadium like Arsenal.
The Lilywhites have made a positive start to the Premier League season following a return of 13 points from their opening seven games.
Tottenham have scored seven goals in their last two top-flight fixtures to hoist themselves up to third place in the table behind Manchester City and Manchester United.
Spurs have challenged for the top-flight title in the past two seasons but finished behind Leicester City and Chelsea to end up without a first Premier League crown.
Mauricio Pochettino has arguably the best striker in the Premier League in his ranks in Harry Kane, while Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are two of the best midfielders in the league.
Former Arsenal defender Keown warned Tottenham that they might have to sacrifice some of their best players to fund their move to a new stadium in north London.
“The excellence of their training. The brand new stadium,” Keown told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“They are 10 years behind Arsenal by the way. Arsenal did this 10 years ago. Then it became the problem of spending money.
“They lost Kyle Walker. Harry Kane is an exception. He is the DNA of Tottenham.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a place in the Champions League.
Spurs finished above the Gunners for the first time in the Premier League era.
