Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Tottenham v Southampton
The Liverpool defender is tipping Tottenham to ease to a comfortable win over Southampton

Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to ease to a comfortable win over Southampton at Wembley in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
The Lilywhites have managed to recover from a difficult spell in November and Mauricio Pochettino’s men have only lost one of their last four games.
Tottenham couldn’t avoid a 4-1 loss to Premier League leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month to effectively any talk of a title challenge.
However, Kane scored his 35th Premier League goal in 2017 to help the north London side to a 3-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor.
The 24-year-old striker will be hoping to fill his boots against a struggling Southampton team that could be without Virgil van Dijk.
The Saints are sitting in 13th place in the table but sitting a mere three points above the relegation zone to raise questions about Mauricio Pellegrino’s future.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson is backing Tottenham to heap further misery on the Saints manager with a comfortable 2-0 win against Wembley in the English capital on Boxing Day.
“I still think Tottenham will win, though,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“Their win and performance against Burnley on Saturday kind of lifted the gloom that had just started to descend on their season.”
Tottenham are in fifth place in the Premier League table and a point adrift of Liverpool, who currently occupy the final Champions League spot.
