Mauricio Pochettino gives Tottenham update on Christian Eriksen
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino casts doubt on Christian Eriksen's future

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he’s unsure whether Christian Eriksen will play for Tottenham Hotspur again.
The Denmark international’s future has been a source of relentless debate through the summer transfer months.
Eriksen was linked with a potential move to Manchester United during the Premier League’s transfer window but a deal didn’t materialise.
Although England’s summer window has shut, other top clubs from around Europe can still sign new players before the deadline on 2 September.
Eriksen has been linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane looks to add more flair to his team.
The 27-year-old has less than 12 months left to run on his current deal at the north London side.
The Danish midfielder was a second half substitute in Tottenham’s 1-0 loss by Newcastle United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking at his media conference about Eriksen’s future after the loss to Newcastle, Pochettino said about the Danish midfielder:
“We are waiting to see what happens.
“It’s not an easy situation. We know this can unsettle the group but we know in 10 days it will finish [when the window closes] and things will be clear.”
He added: “When you lose, the players who don’t play are the best.
“With Christian we win and we lose a lot of games. I accept that the situation is like this. If we won 3-0 today no-one talks about different names.
“I cannot find excuses about the transfer window being open to justify that performance or the result. We cannot find the way to be solid and to have consistency for different reasons.
“I am going to be happy in 10 days after we play Arsenal [on 1 September] when the transfer window closes in Europe.”
Tottenham lost 2-0 to Liverpool FC in their first-ever Champions League final in Madrid last season.
Spurs managed to finish in the top four for the fourth successive season under Pochettino last term.
Eriksen has scored 66 times in 267 games in all competitions for Spurs since his move from Dutch outfit Ajax in 2013.
