Tottenham transfers: AVB’s spoken to Bale over his future ‘at length’
Tottenham transfers: Andre Villas-Boas is convinced that Gareth Bale's immediate future lies at White Hart Lane
Andre Villas-Boas is convinced that Gareth Bale’s immediate future lies at Tottenham after the winger inspired Spurs to victory over Newcastle on Saturday.
The Wales winger continued his recent fine form by netting both of the north Londoners’ goals at White Hart Lane to hoist his side into third place in the Premier League table.
Bale’s future has been a source of constant speculation in recent weeks, with Real Madrid reported to be lining up a summer swoop for the 23-year-old winger.
But Spurs boss Villas-Boas is adamant that his future lies in the Premier League, revealing that he has held lengthy discussions with the player in recent weeks.
When asked if Bale could leave White Hart Lane, Villas-Boas replied: “No. I spoke to him about this at length.
“We are fortunate to have players of this dimension who can decide games.
“He’s enjoying his football through the middle. Today he started where he finished the second half against West Brom [last weekend].
“We gave him the same freedom. When a player feels good about the position he enjoys it more.”
