Michael Owen states his prediction for Tottenham v Watford
Michael Owen is backing Tottenham to get back to winning ways against Watford this weekend
Michael Owen is backing Tottenham Hotspur to claim all three points when they host Watford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Lilywhites are aiming to return to winning ways in the top flight after they suffered a 3-0 loss away to Brighton and Hove Albion last time out.
Indeed, Tottenham Hotspur have lost two and drawn one of their last five games in the Premier League to leave Mauricio Pochettino’s men struggling down in ninth place in the table.
Spurs have only won three games this term in the Premier League and they will be desperate to return to winning ways in front of their home fans against Watford this weekend.
And former Liverpool FC and England striker Owen is backing Pochettino’s side to return to winning ways when they tackle the Hornets at their home stadium on Saturday.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Watford are without a win so far this season, but they did keep a rare clean sheet at Bramall Lane last time – their first in 19 Premier League games.
“Spurs have conceded 10 goals in their last couple of competitive games and they, too, badly need three points to get their season back on track.
“Spurs have won three of their four home league games so far this term, however, and I expect to see the hosts pick up a valuable three points against a Hornets side who currently prop up the table.”
Tottenham will then switch their attentions back to Champions League affairs and their home clash against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday 22 October.
They will then begin gearing up for a crunch showdown against Premier League leaders Liverpool FC at Anfield on Sunday 27 October.
