Tottenham will struggle to finish in top four, says Jamie Carragher
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham Hotspur will struggle to finish in top four

Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham Hotspur could struggle to finish in the top four this season.
Spurs fell six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City on Sunday after suffering a humiliating 5-0 defeat by rivals Liverpool at White Hart Lane.
It’s going to be very difficult for them to get in to the top four for me

And former Reds defender Carragher isn’t impressed with Andre Villas-Boas’ underperforming side, criticising the Spurs manager’s current system.
“There’s so many questions with Tottenham at the moment not just on the pitch but off it as well,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“Tottenham had a decent season last year with the most points that they’ve had, but you look at some of the decisions that the club have made in the last 18 months and virtually every one of them has been wrong.
“You look at the situation they’re in now and it’s going to be very difficult for them to get in to the top four for me.”
Carragher added: “Something’s just not right, I don’t think it’s a bad run of form here, I think there’s something not quite right with this team the way it’s been put together.
“The system that they’re playing is certainly not suiting Soldado. You look at a player like Lamela, brought in to replace Bale, he’s no Bale but £30million from Roma and we’ve not seen him.
“There’s so many players in similar positions, wide players or number 10s, there’s five or six of them and he keeps trying different ones each week and whoever he puts in there just doesn’t seem to work.
“You’re starting to talk about buying new players but they’ve just spent £100million and signed ten new players so I don’t think their owner or Daniel Levy in January is going to say ‘do we need players?’
“I think they’re going to be seriously looking at his (Villas-Boas) position and how they’re set up but unfortunately for AVB, I do feel for him because I’m not sure he’s signed all those players.”
