Paulinho wants Tottenham Hotspur to seize their “big chance” to beat a top-four rival when Liverpool make the trip to White Hart Lane next Sunday.

Spurs are two points behind fourth-placed Manchester City after Andre Villas-Boas’s men came from behind to seal a 2-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.

We are fighting our way back, but we want to be there at the end of the season

Tottenham face second-placed Liverpool, who were 4-1 winners against West Ham United yesterday, at home next weekend, and Paulinho is eyeing maximum points against the Reds.

“It’s a big game at home and we must think that if we play the same as we did against United, we have a big chance to win at home against Liverpool,” Paulinho said.

“It’s still very compact at the moment. Arsenal have gone a distance. Obviously Arsenal have three important fixtures in the next games with Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton, but we just want to be near them and get ourselves into the Champions League positions.

“At the moment, we are fighting our way back, but we want to be there at the end of the season.”
