Roberto Soldado admits he hasn’t hit top form since moving to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The Spain international has scored four goals and made two assists in 11 Premier League appearances after a £26m switch to White Hart Lane from Valencia in August.

However, Soldado has only netted once from open play and has drawn a blank in his last two outings, but the 28-year-old feels that he is about to turn a corner at Spurs.

“I’m not on top, not 100 per cent, but the manager is giving me minutes and I’m getting there,” Soldado told Spurs TV.

“I’d like to score more goals for this team, that’s my target and to get to the best form I can possibly get to.”

He added: “I’m realistic. I know I’m not 100 per cent there yet, but I’m getting there in terms of playing combinations with my team-mates. I always give everything that’s the way I am.

“I’m striving to get to top form and play at 100 per cent. I’m a perfectionist and I think that moment is coming quite soon.”

Soldado insisted he is happy to score goals from the penalty spot if his efforts are helping Tottenham collect three points.

“I scored penalties and it doesn’t matter how the goals come. I think the fans have given me the strength to improve even more.

“My goals have led to wins but myself and the manager want more and that’s what I want to give the fans.”
