Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado talks up partnership with Paulinho

Roberto Soldado has backed his Tottenham Hotspur partnership with Paulinho to come good after a promising display in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

The Spain international, who moved in a £27m deal from Valencia in the summer transfer window, has scored just four goals in 12 Premier League appearances.

However, the 28-year-old did combine with Paulinho in the early stages of their stalemate at White Hart Lane but the former Los Che man blasted his attempt over the crossbar.

And Soldado heaped praise on Paulinho, who also moved to Spurs during the summer, and backed their partnership to produce more goals in the coming weeks and months.

“It is a shame I did not score because there was some great play between Paulinho and I in the build-up,” the London Evening Standard quotes Soldado as saying.

“It is important that we are creating the chances. Paulinho and I were combining well, he is a dangerous player when he runs in from the flanks. We have demonstrated that we are a dangerous combination.

“I think bit by bit we are getting better, we are creating more chances and that is how we are going to end up scoring goals.”
