Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado wants to avenge 6-0 Man City thrashing
Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado wants to avenge their 6-0 loss at Manchester City in November at White Hart Lane on Tuesday

Roberto Soldado admits that Tottenham Hotspur are desperate to avenge their 6-0 loss at Manchester City in November when the two sides clash at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.
The north London side were on the wrong end of a thrashing at the Etihad Stadium, with the heavy loss the start of a run of disappointing results, leading to Andre Villas-Boas’ sacking.

Spurs have collected 16 points in six top-flight outings under new manager Tim Sherwood, and Soldado hopes that top-four chasing Tottenham can out-score City.
“None of us in the changing room have forgotten the defeat up at Manchester City before, so we are completely focussed to win,” Soldado told Tottenham’s website.
“It’s going to be a very hard game but we’ll give it a good go.
“I think the main thing is to win the game tonight, however we win it. The amount of goals they’re scoring is incredible, especially at home at the moment, so we’ll try and obviously get as many goals as we can to win the game.”
Soldado also joked that he hoped Tottenham wouldn’t have to face his compatriot, Alvaro Negredo, after the Spaniard’s electric run of form over the festive period.
“Negredo is in a great part of his career now, banging in lots and lots of goals,” Soldado added.
“If he doesn’t play tonight then that’s better for us! But seriously though, it’ll be lovely to see him and if he does play it’s going to be a really, really hard game.”
And the Tottenham striker was granted his wish after Manuel Pellegrini left Negredo on the bench for the White Hart Lane clash.
