Queens Park Rangers are reportedly in talks to sign Internazionale goalkeeper Júlio Cesar.

The Brazilian shot-stopper, who has won five Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia three times and the Champions League with the San Siro outfit, is apparently being lined-up to provide competition for Robert Green.

And Hoops supporters reacted with unbridled excitement to news of a move for the 32-year-old on Twitter.

Here are some of the Tweets that caught our eye.

Yes, James Dunkley (‏@jamesdunkley4), you’ve heard right: “Am I actually hearing this right? Júlio Cesar, i.e the Inter Milan goalkeeper is in talks with Queens Park Rangers? #QPR”

The Milky Bar Kid (‏@Danny1Boosey) reckons QPR are living in fantasy land: “Why are QPR even attempting to hold transfer talks with Júlio Cesar, never in my life time!”

Muzzammil Merican (‏@Afro_Dreamer) describes the move as ambitious: “QPR wants to sign Cesar. Ambitious Mr Tony Fernandes, ambitious.”

Jorge Lima (‏@jorgefoo) praises Fernandes’ ambition: “QPR interested in Cesar. It’s an unlikely deal, but you’ve got to praise their ambition.”

Joseph Bowes Ayres (‏@bowesayres1) loves QPR’s impressive intent in the transfer market: “QPR bossing it with these transfers! Júlio Cesar next on the cards! Top keeper!”

Liam Dearing (‏@liam_dearing) would love to read Rob Green’s mind: “QPR in talks with Júlio Cesar, bet Rob Green is gutted haha!”

However, Thomas Patton (‏@TPatton_90) can’t understand why QPR need Cesar: “Why do #QPR need Júlio Cesar? They just signed Rob Green :/!”

RichSuper9 (‏@richsuper9) feels sorry for Green: “Probably not the start Rob Green wanted for his QPR career. Concedes five on his debut and then hears Júlio Cesar could be on his way! #doh”

Matthew Knight (‏@sewerfox99) succinctly sums the move up: “Júlio Cesar to QPR #madnessintheEPL!”

Trouty (‏@troutyscfc) reckons QPR are panicking after the 5-0 defeat by Swansea City: “QPR are in talks with Inter’s Júlio Cesar? Are you serious? The Swans must’ve put the fear of God into them on Saturday #JustThrowMoneyAtIt”

SimonSays ‏(@SrlBright) agrees: “QPR trying to get Carvalho on loan, sign Dawson from Spurs and get Júlio Cesar from Inter! I know they were bad at the weekend but bloody hell!”

But James Phillips (‏@jfaphillips) believes QPR will have a top side if they sign Cesar: “If QPR actually manage to add Júlio Cesar, Carvalho and Dawson to Bosingwa and Fabio in their back five then surely they’ll finish top half!”

Finally, Lokesh Sudera (‏@lokesh_188) can see a top-six finish for QPR now: “QPR might sign Júlio Cesar … With all the signings they make they might finish in the top six new role for Arsenal, get in the way of QPR!”
