You’d think most journalists would know to switch off their mobile phones during an event involving Roy Keane, but one member of the media risked the wrath of the Manchester United legend this week.
The former Red Devils captain released his second autobiography, The Second Half, on Thursday, taking a swipe at his old manager Sir Alex Ferguson, ex-Manchester City rival Alfe Inge Haalaand and former team-mate Peter Schmeichel.
Sporting his trademark beard (one final time before a much-anticipated shave) and menacing stare, the retired Republic of Ireland international was clearly annoyed when a mobile phone starting to ring during his book launch at The Aviva.
The Irish Independent caught the incident on camera, with Keane casting a withering stare in the direction of the guilty unnamed journalist at Irish football’s national stadium.
Of course, the former Sunderland manager, who won seven Premier League titles during a decorated United career, has previous when it comes to journalists and their ringing mobile phones.
Keane lashed out at a member of the media during his Ipswich Town reign when a journalist failed to turn his phone on silent – or even more appropriately, off – during a media conference.
