Wayne Rooney has called for patience from Manchester United fans as the Red Devils look to turn around their disappointing start to the season under David Moyes.
The Red Devils slumped to their third straight defeat in all competitions on Tuesday as they were beaten 2-1 by Sunderland in the League Cup semi-final first leg.
We need them to support us through this time. We will get stronger and we will get better

United are currently seventh in the Premier League table and 11 points behind leaders Arsenal after a stuttering start to the Scot’s reign since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson last summer.
But Rooney, who was voted the club’s player of the month for December, believes it will take some more time for the defending champions to click into gear under Moyes.
“The fans’ support is very important. The fans have been great here, especially now when we are not in the best of form and we have lost the last few games,” Rooney told MUTV.
“We need them to support us through this time. We will get stronger and we will get better. The fans are vital in being patient with us and letting us try to get there. I am sure we will.”
Rooney, 28, has scored nine goals and made nine assists in 17 Premier League appearances so far this season.
