‘Wayne Rooney would still have Man United future if Radamel Falcao signed’
Ex-Man United defender Steve Bruce claims Wayne Rooney would still have a Red Devils future if Radamel Falcao joined in the summer

Steve Bruce believes Wayne Rooney would still have a future at Manchester United if the Premier League leaders bought Radamel Falcao in the summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been heavily linked with a move for the Atletico Madrid striker in recent days, with some reports claiming the Colombian had already agreed a deal for an Old Trafford switch.
With increasing speculation surrounding Falcao, Rooney’s future appears in doubt amid reports the England international could join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
But Bruce, who won three titles at United in the 1990s, feels Rooney would still have a key role to play at the 19-time English champions even if Falcao did complete a big-money move.
“I wouldn’t say [signing Falcao] was the end for Wayne Rooney,” Bruce told talkSPORT.
“People keep stirring it up and Sir Alex Ferguson keeps playing it down. I’m sure Wayne Rooney still has a big part to play.
“You wouldn’t be surprised to see Manchester United sign [Falcao] because their greatest strength is the way they keep improving [the squad].”
Falcao has scored 22 goals in 27 La Liga appearances this season, while Rooney has managed a rather more modest 12 league strikes.
