Ronaldinho says AC Milan will push title rivals Inter right to the death in the chase for the Serie A title.

The Rossoneri are currently trailing their arch-rivals by four points with 12 games to go, but the Brazilian midfielder insists his side can prevent Mourinho’s men from claiming a fifth consecutive Scudetto.

“We’re four points behind Inter - this is an important period,” said the 29-year-old. “It’s important to never stop believing.”

Milan face a testing trip to Roma on Saturday evening followed by a pivotal showdown at Old Trafford in midweek where Leonardo’s side will attempt to overcome a 3-2 deficit from the first leg of their last 16 tie.

But the Brazilian playmaker is remaining positive ahead of next Wednesday’s clash. “I’m always positive, even when we’re in difficulty,” he continued.

“It’s not impossible. They are two hugely important games and we can do well in both.”

And does he believe his impressive club form could earn him re-call to the Brazil squad in time for South Africa? “I’m happy,” he said. “It’s a period in which things are going well for me.”

“I do think about the national side because I have lots of friends in the team and I’d like to be with them, but I’m focused on doing my best at Milan and showing the manager and the world that I deserve to be in the squad.”
