West Brom 1 Liverpool 1: Victor Anichebe revels in his leveller after the Baggies hold top-four chasing Reds at Hawthorns
Victor Anichebe revelled in his second-half equaliser after West Bromwich Albion held top-four chasing Liverpool to a draw at The Hawthorns.
Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge combined to make the breakthrough in the first half as the England international netted his 14th Premier League strike of the season.
It’s important for us to get points

However, Kolo Toure’s wayward back pass presented Anichebe with the chance to level, and the former Everton striker slotted his finish past Simon Mignolet with 23 minutes remaining.
“It’s always nice to score. I was itching to get on,” Anichebe told Sky Sports.
“I got a text from one of the Everton staff saying I hope you do the Reds. I felt like I was going to come on and help the team even though I wasn’t starting.
“The team did ever so well and worked the Liverpool defence. I came on and helped the team.
“I think so. I think in the past I might have switched off but I was ready, especially against Liverpool. Kolo slipped up and I was there and finished it.”
The West Brom striker added that it was important to pick up a point after some of their relegation rivals gained momentum on Saturday.
“Looking yesterday at a few of the results, teams around us picked up points. It’s important for us to get points. It’s important the fans stay with us as well,” Anichebe added.
