West Ham 0 Man City 3: Joleon Lescott relishing "very special final" after a 9-0 aggregate win against Hammers
Joleon Lescott admitted it was “very special” feeling to reach the League Cup final after sealing an emphatic 9-0 aggregate win against West Ham United.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini underlined his desire to cement their place in the showpiece despite a 6-0 first-leg lead by starting Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo and David Silva at Upton Park.

And the Citizens surged into a 2-0 lead within 24 minutes as Negredo and Aguero finished past Jussi Jaaskelainen, before the Spaniard netted his second of the night with 31 minutes remaining.
City could face Manchester United or Sunderland in the Wembley showpiece – and Lescott is expecting a tough League Cup final regardless of their opponent on 2 March.
“We knew we had one foot in the door. We didn’t want to lose and wanted to keep our winning streak going,” Lescott told Sky Sports.
He added: “It’s very special [to reach a cup final]. That’s what we’re striving to do, win trophies, and long may it continue.
“It sounds good [the prospect of an all-Manchester final] but when you get to the final, you know there’s going to be no easy games.
“If United happen to get through, we know it will be a tough game as a derby. We’re there, that’s the main thing.”
Lescott has been heavily linked with a move to City’s opposition on Tuesday night, as well as Besiktas, but the Citizens defender remained tight-lipped when quizzed about a possible exit.
“I’m not sure [if I’ll be here for the final]. I hope to be here. It’s still ongoing,” Lescott added.
