‘West Ham missed out on Demba Ba, Romelu Lukaku & Nicklas Bendtner’
West Ham's Karen Brady says the Hammers missed out on Demba, Romelu Lukaku and Nicklas Bendtner on deadline day

Karen Brady says West Ham United missed out on Chelsea duo Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku, as well as Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner, on deadline day.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce had previously admitted his squad was lacking in depth in terms of strikers, with injury-prone Andy Carroll and Modibo Maiga providing the forward options.
West Ham vice-chairman Brady revealed the east London side were keen to secure Ba and Lukaku on loan, while Bendtner was attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.
Ultimately, Allardyce was left disappointed but Brady feels the Upton Park outfit have sufficiently strengthen in the summer transfer window.
“You win some, you lose some and West Ham lose three tonight – transfers, that is,” Brady wrote in her Sun column.
“On the final day of the window, we miss out on Chelsea strike duo Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku, plus Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner.
“At 8.55pm I am told Lukaku wants to rejoin West Brom and, no matter what we do, his decision is final.
“Then, with 10 minutes to deadline, it’s revealed he is joining Everton.
“Anyway, David Sullivan and Sam Allardyce did their business early – making Andy Carroll our record signing and acquiring several other excellent players.”
