Wigan 2 Crystal Palace 1: Tony Pulis ‘disappointed’ by cup exit
Wigan 2 Crystal Palace 1: Tony Pulis admits he is disappointed to crash out of the FA Cup in the fourth round
Tony Pulis couldn’t hide his disappointment after Crystal Palace were knocked out of the FA Cup in the fourth round by holders Wigan Athletic.
The Latics, who memorably were 1-0 winners against Manchester City in last season’s FA Cup final, took the lead through former Eagles midfielder Ben Watson in the 36th minute at the DW Stadium.

Palace did draw level in the second half thanks to Aaron Wilbraham’s close-range finish, but Wigan booked their place in the fifth-round draw when James McClean scored with 12 minutes remaining.
“We’re disappointed not to get something out of the game,” Pulis told BBC Sport.
“We came to have a go and tried to win the game.
“When you play in cup ties you need certain decisions to go your way. One or two decisions didn’t go our way but that is what happens.”
Palace defender Jonathan Parr had to be replaced before half-time due to a neck injury following a clash with Callum McManaman – and Pulis wanted to look at the incident before making a judgement on the incident.
“He has gone to hospital for a scan,” Pulis added.
“We need to look at the incident again, but it looks like the lad has caught him. It will be interesting to see it again on the cameras.
“We think the injury was caused by the impact. I’m not sure whether it is his jaw or his neck at the moment.”
