Daniel Sturridge and Jack Wilshere have taken to Twitter as England’s World Cup squad began their “great adventure” on Sunday.

The Liverpool striker, who broke the deadlock in England’s 3-0 victory over Peru on Friday, posed alongside Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whilst Wilshere was accompanied by midfield team-mate Adam Lallana.

Here is a pick of the best social media activity from the England players ahead of their trip stateside.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere poses in a shirt and tie: “Ready to leave British Shore’s…#nextstopmiami”

Wilshere’s Gunners team-mate Oxlade-Chamberlain is rather less smart: “All ready to go! Absolutely buzzin! Get me to Brazil!! #WorldCup #Rio2014 #Ox #Chamberlain”

England legend Gary Lineker ‏(@GaryLineker) wishes the Liverpool striker all the best: “@D_Sturridge Good luck to you. Grab yourself a Golden boot!”

Wilshere (@JackWilshere) alongside Liverpool target and Southampton captain Adam Lallana: “Me and Mr Lallana ready for a long flight! #MiamiHereWeCome”
