Wojciech Szczesny: Arsenal ‘deserved more’ against Tottenham
Wojciech Szczesny tells Arsenal that they must "pick themselves up" following Sunday's damaging defeat at Tottenham

A bitterly disappointed Wojciech Szczesny has told Arsenal that they must “pick themselves up” following Sunday’s damaging defeat at Tottenham.
The Gunners went down 2-1 at White Hart Lane, with goals from Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon putting the home side two up before Per Mertesacker’s header halved the deficit just after half-time.
Spurs clung on for a victory which hoisted them up into third place in the Premier League table and seven points above fifth-placed Arsenal with 10 games left to play.
But Szczesny says the Gunners have no choice but to dust themselves down ahead of next week’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Bayern Munich.
“We felt we were in control of the game, but conceded two quick goals and it is very hard to come back from two goals down in a big game,” the goalkeeper told Arsenal’s website.
“We thought we deserved a bit more from the game, but we lost an important game so we are very disappointed.
“Every time we lose a derby there is going to be disappointment but we have to pick ourselves up. We have 10 days until the next game [against Bayern Munich] so we have to make sure we are prepared for that.
“We have a lot of time to prepare for that game and if we manage to get a good result and hopefully qualify for the next round, that would be a massive boost to have a good run in the Champions League.”
