Szczesny backs Arsenal to underline credentials against Liverpool

Wojciech Szczesny is convinced that Arsenal have what it takes to beat Liverpool at Anfield and keep their Premier League title bid on track.
The Gunners head into Saturday’s showdown on Merseyside two points clear at the top of the table following Chelsea’s win at Manchester City on Monday night.
We look at it as a chance to create an even bigger gap with the teams behind us

Arsenal face Manchester United next week before playing Liverpool again in the FA Cup fifth round – but goalkeeper Szczesny insists that Arsene Wenger’s men relish the tests against the top teams.
“Every single game in the Premier League is difficult at the moment,” Szczesny told Arsenal’s website. “You don’t have any weaker teams. So it’s a difficult run but we’re looking forward to it.
“We look at it as a chance to create an even bigger gap with the teams behind us.
“I think every player looks forward to the games against big opponents and world-class players. So it’s very exciting and I hope we can show people what we’re made of.”
The Polish shot-stopper also feels that Arsenal’s recent defensive stability is down to a familiarity between he and his team-mates.
“We’ve been together for much longer and we understand each other’s game now,” Szczesny said. “Over the last couple of seasons we had less luck with injuries – I never played with the same back four for more than two or three games [in a row].
“Now we play with the same back four, sometimes we rotate the full-backs but in general we stay with the same defence.”
