Arsenal’s Szczesny: It’s players’ responsibility to put things right

Wojciech Szczesny admits he is surprised by Arsenal’s position in the Premier League table and has called on the Gunners to “put things right”.
Arsene Wenger’s men are currently in 10th place after stumbling to their worst start to a season since 1994 and managing just one win in their last six Premier League outings.
Goalkeeper Szczesny is convinced that Arsenal have the quality to challenge for silverware on all fronts and says Gunners fans deserve better from the players.
“I am definitely surprised by our position in the league, because when you have the quality of our players, we should be fighting for trophies and we do have one of the best teams in the Premier League,” said the Arsenal goalkeeper.
“Our fans do not deserve to see us 10th in the table, but it is our responsibility to put things right and make sure we get back to where we belong.”
Szczesny, 22, has made seven appearances for the Gunners this term after being sidelined with injuries.
And the Poland international believes he is now getting back to his best form.
“I admit it has been a difficult few months,” he continued. “I found it hard to adjust playing with little injuries and knocks, especially in the last couple of months of last season.
“But I am pretty much sharper and fitter now, looking forward to getting back to my best and leaving those difficult times behind.
“I am feeling really sharp in every game, and the manager is sticking with me, which is really good, so I just want to get back to my best as quick as I can because I have not been at my best for the last few months.”
