Mark Lawrenson believes Manchester United will drop points at Wolves on Monday night.
The Red Devils made the perfect start to the new Premier League season thanks to a 4-0 victory over Chelsea FC at Old Trafford last weekend.
Goals from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James sealed a resounding victory to suggest the club won’t miss Romelu Lukaku.
Manchester United have a poor record against Wolves over the past 12 months or so.
The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw with Wolves at Old Trafford last season.
Manchester United lost 2-0 to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in the FA Cup quarter-final at The Molineux before a 2-1 defeat in the Premier League 17 days later.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Wolves to extend their unbeaten run against Manchester United at The Molineux on Monday night.
“United got a great result against Chelsea, and a 4-0 win was the perfect way for them to start the season – but let’s see if they can build on it over the course of the campaign,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“To do that, they will need to find a way to beat teams like Wolves, who did so well against the top six sides last season, and beat United at Molineux in the league and FA Cup.
“Wolves are well organised and will sit in and nullify United’s threat on the counter-attack, so there is no way this match will be as wide open as Saturday’s game at Old Trafford was.
“Instead United will need nous and creativity to break Wolves down. Realistically they are looking at Paul Pogba to provide most of that, so a lot depends on him.”
Manchester United finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a place in the Champions League.
The Red Devils haven’t won a trophy in the last two seasons following difficult campaigns under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United signed Swansea winger James, Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Leicester City defender Harry Maguire in the summer transfer window.
Solskjaer was made the permanent Manchester United manager in March.
