Yaya Toure: Man City can win Champions League and Premier League
The Manchester City midfielder is confident that Manuel Pellegrini's men can challenge on all fronts this season
Yaya Toure has claimed that Manchester City are capable of winning both Premier League and Champions League this season.
The Citizens face a must-win European clash with CSKA Moscow at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday as they look to progress to the knock-out stages of this season’s tournament.
We know it’s going to be difficult but we’ll try to do it

City also find themselves six points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League after 10 games following a stuttering start to their title defence.
But Toure is confident that City can challenge on all fronts this season.
“I think the preference would be both but we know it’s always difficult to win both,” Toure said in an interview with Nissan.
“The Premier League is very, very tough and it takes a lot of your energy. The Champions League, after, you’re playing against very clever teams because it’s the competition of the champions of Europe.
“For us the perfect scenario is going to be both but we know it’s going to be difficult but we’ll try to do it.
Toure, 31, has come in for some criticism for his performances this season, but the playmaker pointed to the potential impact a World Cup hangover could have following this summer’s tournament in Brazil.
“I think last year was a brilliant season because we’d been able to prepare all together from the beginning,” he continued.
“For me as a football player the pre-season is very, very important for the players.
“This season is quite difficult at the moment because we’ve been moving around, the World Cup, not having a good rest and coming back again.”
Toure was speaking to Nissan, the official automotive sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, as part of his role as the car manufacturer’s global ambassador.
