Jose Mourinho praised Alexis Sanchez for his classy performance in Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Yeovil Town in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.

The Chile international completed a move to the Red Devils last week after Manchester United agreed to a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan secure a move to Arsenal.

Mourinho wasted no time handing Sanchez his Manchester United debut as the 29-year-old lined up against the League Two side for the cup clash.

January signing Sanchez made two assists in the 4-0 win to help the Red Devils secure their place in the fifth round ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

Speaking to the media after Sanchez’s impressive debut against the League Two side, Mourinho discussed what the Chile international will bring to the table.

“I am very happy,” Mourinho said.

“I think it’s no surprise for anyone after three years in the Premier League, playing every week, so everyone knows what Alexis is.

“He is the kind of player you buy and you don’t think about adaptation in relation to English football, so [it’s] no surprise for us. He is a fantastic player and he showed that for three years and for the past three days when he was training for us, so he’s an amazing addition for us.

“Everyone is happy that he has come. Good players want good players and Alexis is a fantastic player for us. The question is always which one is going to be out? Where is he going to play? It’s not about that for us.

“For us, it is the fact that we have a fantastic group of attacking players and he is another one with a bit more maturity, and a bit of experience. He will bring us extra maturity and class. I am really pleased with him.”

Goals from Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku secured a comfortable win after Manchester United were 2-0 winners against Derby County in the third round.

Sanchez won two FA Cups in three seasons at The Emirates following his move to Arsenal from Barcelona in a £35m deal in 2014.

The South American will be hoping to win the Premier League title for the first time at Manchester United.
