Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez isn’t budging on his prediction for how Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2 will play out.
Usyk and Dubois fight at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 19 July in a repeat of the heavyweight contest that took place in 2023.
Dubois believed he was robbed of a victory that night and since then, his Ukrainian counterpart has beaten Tyson Fury twice, becoming the first undisputed champion of the heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Harlem Eubank has advised Dubois to copy Derek Chisora’s tactics to get the win against ‘The Cat’, but Canelo has other ideas as to how it will go.

Canelo Alvarez places $500k bet on Usyk to beat Dubois
The pound-for-pound star has always been in Usyk’s corner when predicting a winner of the Wembley showdown and wasn’t prepared to change his mind.
Instead, the Mexican has doubled down and placed an extraordinary $500k bet backing Usyk to win.
Writing on X, he said: “Over the past five years, Usyk has beaten the best. Oleksandr has very strong stamina; he’s very technical and smart.
“When I see someone with that kind of focus, I back them. That’s why I placed a big bet on his victory. Oleksandr, you do you!”
Usyk revealed the only condition he would fight Canelo under in 2021
Both fighters are considered to be two of the greatest in the sport’s history and the idea of them sharing the ring would be music to every boxing fan’s ears.
In 2021, Usyk was asked about the possibility of facing the Mexican star and while he seemed open to the idea, he said it would only happen at cruiserweight.
He told TalkSport: “If he wants to box with me at cruiserweight, then I can go down there.
But on condition that I still have my heavyweight belts because I’ll go back there later.”
