Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford is over a month away and Carl Froch has put in an early prediction.
Fresh off Froch’s opinion that Daniel Dubois quit, the 48-year-old has been outspoken when it comes to the result of the next big super-fight.
The Mexican defends his undisputed super middleweight titles against Crawford, who comes in at a weight disadvantage without a rehydration clause, according to trainer BoMac.

Currently, Canelo seems to be underestimated by the boxing fraternity with most picking ‘Bud’ to pull off the unlikely win, including Carl Frampton, who was laughed at two years ago for his prediction.
Carl Froch believes Canelo Alvarez is a ‘massive favourite’ against Terence Crawford because of sparring experience
A fellow super middleweight in the ‘Cobra’ however, has come out in support of Saul Alvarez based on his own sparring experience.
Speaking to Fightlens, he said: “I think it is a great fight, it’s really interesting, intriguing because Crawford is so good, so talented, an unbeaten box of tricks.
“I thought the Errol Spence fight would’ve been close, but he absolutely demolished him.
“I just don’t see how a welterweight can step up to super middleweight. I don’t see how he can perform for longer than four, five, or six rounds.”
While you can look to the 35-year-old’s most recent performances, where he struggled against a mover like William Scull, it is still unknown what would happen if an opponent took a fight to the modern great in 2025.
But the British legend insisted there is a way to use the size advantage by explaining his spars against brilliant welterweights like Kell Brook.
“I used to spar with welterweights and they are good for a round or two… but the minute you get p- – – -d off and just close that distance a little bit, start to lean on them and wrap around the body and bring it upstairs, it’s almost like fight’s over,” he continued.
“(Crawford moving up) It’s outstanding what he’s doing… I’m making Canelo a massive favourite purely on the size.”
Canelo Alvarez is 8-1 against American opponents, with only three stoppages
What the Omaha fighter may be able to take solace in is the fact that only three of the Guadalajaran’s American opposition have been finished inside the distance.
His only loss to USA rivals came at the hands of the undefeated king Floyd Mayweather Jr in an early contest.
Fighters like Daniel Jacobs and Austin Trout drew him out to the full 12 rounds in the weights below, but could not get a decision against the skilled technician.
An infamous knockout of James Kirkland has landed in his highlight packages since the devastating hook connected with his chin in 2015.
Crawford, though, will likely avoid the same fate and instead mirror a Jermell Charlo-esque game plan of constant movement paired with a high guard to see out his biggest challenge ever.
