A former world champion has had his say on the November 15th all-British rematch.
Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are set to face off for a second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, reigniting their familial grudge match started by their fathers’ first fight in 1990.
Their first meeting was a unanimous decision victory in favour of Eubank Jr in a closely fought encounter, and it is believed Benn will be ‘chomping at the bit’ to get a win over his arch rival.
Early predictions have favoured ‘The Destroyer’ to even the score in the fight, with controversy surrounding the weight pointed out by Carl Frampton as the one ‘struggle’ for the 35-year-old.

While it may be an issue for ‘Next Gen’, he will not be as concerned, given his success on April 26th, where his problems on the scales didn’t factor too much into his performance.
It does seem that the 28-year-old who lost the fight would be able to find more adjustments to win, but a former world champion disagrees with that sentiment.
The ex-WBO super lightweight champion Chris Algieri felt that it was the older competitor who would be able to find some flaws to fix in his game plan.
In an interview with BoxingScene, Algieri explained: “I think there are actually more adjustments that can be made for Eubank than for Benn. Benn is a real intensity type of guy. He’s come forward. He’s explosive.
“He tries to hit you with big shots. I’d be surprised if he came out there and tried to jab with Eubank, although I think that’s probably a good idea.”
The former opponent of Manny Pacquiao believes Eubank only needs to ‘tighten up’ his jab, and continue to keep him at range, similar to how he’d navigated the earlier rounds.
“Eubank even said after the fight he was very surprised at how good Benn was,” he said.
“So, I think having that knowledge right there is going to make a difference for Eubank for him to make adjustments.”
Eddie Hearn confirms Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn rematch contract stipulations
A conversation surrounding the contract of the fight had begun after the announcement on Wednesday, leading many to ask whether it was going to be under the previous stipulations.
Eddie Hearn, in an IFL TV interview on Friday, confirmed the contract for the fight is the ‘exact same’ as it was for the clash four months ago.
He said: “No, we’ve not been asked to change the weight. We signed for two fights with the same clauses.
“Eubank will make his weight again. Conor will come up.”
Hearn claims people saw the ‘size difference’ on the night, and his fighter, Benn, is ‘right up against it’ in the rematch.
