Eddie Hearn once created his 2015 boxing wish list, but the majority of fights on the list never happened, including an Anthony Joshua mega-clash.
The Chairman of Matchroom has put his neck on the line as a promoter and has found great success managing the careers of fighters like Joshua.
He recently entered negotiations for a Jake Paul ‘mismatch’ fight for AJ, but since news broke of the Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis exhibition bout on November 14th, he has had to move on to find a new opponent.

However, fights fall through in boxing all the time due to promotional disputes, money or fighters just not wanting to take the risk.
Eddie Hearn’s catastrophic 2015 boxing wish list included an Anthony Joshua mega-clash that never happened
Since becoming involved with boxing promotion in 2010, Hearn has been no stranger to hyping up potential clashes with some of the biggest stars in the world.
It was no different when he was finding success under the Sky Sports banner, when he created a Christmas wish list of the five fights he wanted to make, including some very intriguing matchups.
The list has been resurfacing on social media following his list for fights to make in 2026:
- Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury
- Kell Brook v Amir Khan
- Carl Froch v Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr
- James DeGale v George Groves
- Scott Quigg v Carl Frampton
Out of all these contests, only one was made in 2016, which was Carl Frampton’s split decision victory over Scott Quigg for the IBF super bantamweight title.
What makes the list all the more ill-fated is that only one other contest has occurred since it was created, which was Kell Brook’s sixth-round stoppage victory over Amir Khan eight years later.
The one on top of the list, which every British boxing fan has been clamouring for, still has not happened, with Tyson Fury and Joshua still never having been toe-to-toe in the squared circle.
It was rumoured that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr would take on Carl Froch, but the ‘Cobra’ decided to retire in 2014 following his incredible Wembley knockout of George Groves.
Eddie Hearn’s 2026 wishlist still includes Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury and some incredible pound-for-pound fighters
His newest addition to his wish lists from over the years has just been collected from an interview with IFL TV.
The list is as follows:
- Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
- Jaron Ennis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr
- Sugar Nunez vs Emanuel Navarrete
- Diego Pacheco vs Canelo/Hamzah Sheeraz
- Naoya Inoue vs Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez
- Dmitry Bivol vs Jai Opetaia
A whole host of very interesting clashes, but the Naoya Inoue and Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez fight stands out as one of the best, featuring two pound-for-pound stars from the lower weight classes.
Canelo Alvarez features on this list, but instead of a Hamzah Sheeraz fight, Hearn has picked his super middleweight prospect, Diego Pacheco, to have the honour of facing the Mexican.
Jaron Ennis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr is an exciting bout which is likely to come around in the first half of the year if both get past their next opponents, Uisma Lima and Erickson Lubin, respectively.
Once again, the Fury vs AJ fight still appears, but with both nearing the end of their storied careers, there may be a flickering hope from the promoter that he can give it one last go.
