Frank Warren was unsure about Daniel Dubois letting his trainer go following his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in July.
The British fighter had his work cut out for him when he rematched the heavyweight great, as Usyk delivered a five-round demolition to become undisputed champion for a second time in the weight class.
Following his loss, Dubois came under fire for the revelation that he had a ‘party’ in his home before heading to Wembley Stadium for the biggest fight of his career.
While he had a pre-fight ‘party’ before his Anthony Joshua clash last year, the details of the gathering before his undisputed title fight were criticised as ‘reckless’ given the bout’s magnitude.

However, in the weeks since he has decided to change his team from the one that delivered him the greatest successes of his career, including the Joshua knockout, by letting go of trainer Don Charles.
Charles directed his fighter to three marquee wins, which secured him the title fight against the Ukrainian, but he was fired even after his recent efforts to revitalise the 27-year-old’s career.
Daniel’s promoter, Warren, was not best pleased that his fighter let go of the coach, which he expressed during an interview with BoxNation.
The head of Queensberry gave his honest assessment of his fighter’s decision. He said: “I think it’s regrettable, but again, that’s their choice. I got my views on it, but that’s their choice.
“It worked with Don, he had three good wins with Don…I don’t like fighters keep jumping and changing trainers. I don’t like that. I like fighters to be settled. But, it is what it is. What do I know, I have only been doing this a long, long time.
“Believe it or not, as well as being a promoter, being a manager, I think I’ve managed more champions than anybody in the history of British boxing. So I think I may know a little about what I’m talking about but it is what it is.”
He believes Dubois can ‘resurrect’ himself as he is still under 30 and expects his fighter to become a two-time heavyweight champion.

It may not be long until fans see the former IBF titlist again, with his new manager, Sam Jones, hinting at a potential December return.
It would be his second fight this year after his scheduled contest with Joseph Parker was called off the week of the fight due to ‘Dynamite’ suffering from an illness.
While an opponent has not been confirmed, recent Moses Itauma undercard fighter David Adeleye has offered to fight his domestic rival.
Speaking to TalkSport, he said: “If Daniel Dubois is supposed to be fighting again this year, then let’s make that happen.
“We have sparred many times before. If we fight, you guys are going to be in for a treat.”
Adeleye lost his last bout to Filip Hrgovic by unanimous decision following a hard-hitting ten-round contest, which featured a round of the year contender.
