Harlem Eubank praised his cousin Chris Eubank Jr after his win over Conor Benn in April.
Eubank Jr took home a unanimous decision over rival Benn following an intense build-up which attempted to emulate their fathers’ rivalry.
Issues remain over the weight cut endured by the 35-year-old, which is being investigated by the British Boxing Board.

Harlem has been preparing for a big domestic clash in his own right against Jack Catterall.
The 31-year-old goes into enemy territory as he finds himself in Catterall’s hometown of Manchester. While looking ahead to his clash, the Brighton boxer has also spoken about the future of his relative.
Harlem Eubank believes Eubank Jr has earned the Canelo fight
In recent years, the middleweight has sought a fight against Canelo Alvarez.
But with Canelo facing Terrence ‘Bud’ Crawford, a bout between the pair is unlikely to happen in the near future.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the super-lightweight cousin of Chris explained why he thinks an Alvarez fight is more than deserved.
He said: “I think he’s earned the Canelo fight, he’s 35 years old, I don’t want to see him go through any nasty weight cuts, people trying to disadvantage him in the ring.
“I want him to go in fully fuelled, and he’s earned the opportunity to go in there and fight the best in the world, and that man is Canelo Alvarez.”
Even with a potential rematch with the ‘Destroyer’ on the table, he doesn’t feel there is a need for them to run it back.
“It [rematch with Benn] might be on the table before that Canelo fight, but let’s see,” Eubank said.
“I think that dance has been done, I think he’s gone in there the weakest version of himself, a shell of himself on the night, and got the job done pretty convincingly.”
How does Chris Eubank Jr fare against Canelo Alvarez?
A contest between the two fighters would likely draw huge eyeballs but may not be one for the purists of the sport.
While Eubank will be overmatched by experience and skills, he does have some physical advantages.
A four-inch height advantage and an inch reach advantage mean his best attack is using the jab to keep the fight long.
| Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez | Chris Eubank Jr |
| 63-2-2 (39 KOs) | 35-3 (25 KOs) |
| Age: 34 | Age: 35 |
| Height: 5 ft 7 inches | Height: 5 ft 11 inches |
| Reach: 70 1/2 inches | Reach: 72 1/2 inches |
However, the Mexican will be the overwhelming favourite due to his head movement and ability to walk down opponents.
While the British fighter can have success at range, the undisputed champion has faced similar styles at a higher level.
Even if Jr decides to stand and trade, similar to his Benn victory, the natural size of his opponent and previous weight cuts could play an important factor.
An early prediction for this would see the fight go the distance, but Canelo would win wide after tracking down his man and pinning him to the ropes.
If this were signed, it would likely land at England’s stadium and add to a long line of Wembley fights.
