Anderson Silva is the only man to have faced both Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, with a different outcome in both bouts.

Silva is a UFC legend but swapped the octagon for the boxing ring, and has been beaten by Paul, but recorded a surprise victory against the Mexican fighter.

Paul and Chavez Jr will fight on June 28 in what is being billed as the American YouTuber’s biggest test in his quest to become a world champion.

Given that the former MMA star has experienced both competitors, he can safely vouch for which fighter has more power.

Anderson Silva thinks Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is a more powerful puncher than Jake Paul

Silva may have lost to Paul and beaten Chavez Jr, but he admitted that the Mexican had the more powerful punch.

Speaking after his loss against Paul, the former UFC star admitted that the 28-year-old “could punch” after being knocked down by the American, but felt like it wasn’t powerful and that it was due to being off balance.

“Jake could punch. My base is not correct, that’s what my coach said, but I don’t feel no knockout, I don’t feel power, but I’m not in good balance and that’s how I take the punch.”

However, with Chavez Jr, Silva had plenty of praise for his punching power, telling Fight Hub TV: “Wow, it’s strong you know he’s a boxing guy, a traditional boxer, he comes from the traditional boxing family but I’m prepared for that.”

Anderson Silva predicts Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

As well as claiming that Chavez Jr is the better puncher, he is also backing the former WBC Middleweight champion to do the business in California.

Speaking to ES News, the son of the martial arts legend Gabriel said his dad was confident the Mexican would win.

“He’s definitely going for Chavez,” said Gabriel.

“I don’t even know if he’s ever been dropped, a guy like Jake might not have it to put him out. It’s going to be a good fight but my dad is definitely going for Chavez.”
