• David Ospina – Couldn’t have done too much to prevent Hakan Calhanoglu’s opener for AC Milan but still didn’t look particularly assured. 6/10

• Hector Bellerin – Was a constant attacking threat in the first half, but his end-product is still lacking on occasion. Lucky not to concede a penalty after the break. 6

• Shkodran Mustafi – Did OK. No glaring errors alongside Calum Chambers for most of the game. But still not entirely convincing. 5

• Laurent Koscielny – Lasted all of 11 minutes before having to be substituted with a knock. N/A

• Nacho Monreal – A solid enough evening for the left-back at The Emirates. 6

• Granit Xhaka – Did the simple things well – something he is often accused of failing to do. Netted the second Arsenal goal after half-time with a long-range effort that Gianluigi Donnarumma really should have saved. It was one of his more solid displays in an Arsenal shirt this season. 7

• Aaron Ramsey – Was his usual energetic self. Kept possession well and helped Arsenal push forward in both halves. He never seems to tire. 7

• Jack Wilshere – Took the captain’s armband after Koscielny’s substitution. Always looks calm and composed on the ball. Set up the third goal with an accurate cross. Arsenal fans will be hoping to see him pen a new deal soon. 7

• Mesut Ozil – Was pretty quiet in the first half. Often looks disinterested after his team lose possession, but that’s nothing new. Improved slightly after the break by masterminding some attacks. Substituted with 11 minutes to play. 5

• Henrikh Mkhitaryan – The Europa League specialist was in decent form and looks to be growing in confidence in an Arsenal shirt. Came off for Elneny after 69 minutes. 6

• Danny Welbeck (man of the match) – He took his penalty well after the Gunners were awarded something of a soft spot kick following a supposed foul by Ricardo Rodriguez in the box. Netted a second in the 85th minute with a close-range header. Looked as sharp as he has done for a while. Arsenal fans will now be hoping to see the England striker stay fit for a sustained period – something he’s been unable to do since his move from Manchester United back in 2014. 8

• Calum Chambers (On in the 11th minute) – Did OK after being called upon early on following Koscielny’s injury. Looked assured in the second half. 6

• Mohamed Elneny – (On in the 69th minute) – N/A

• Sead Kolasinac – (On in the 79th minute) – N/A
