Rio Ferdinand has heaped praise on Arsene Wenger after the Arsenal manager celebrated a record seventh FA Cup triumph on Saturday.
The Frenchman watched his side end what has been a difficult season on a high by beating 10-man Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley to lift the FA Cup for the third time in four years.
Wenger has been under immense pressure at Arsenal this season and his side have struggled to find consistent form at times.
Arsenal came up short in the Premier League as they ended up in fifth place in the table, meaning they will have to settle for Europa League football next season.
However, Ferdinand was delighted to see Wenger end the campaign on a positive note with victory over Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Wenger said: “He’s been under immense pressure in the last couple of months, with everyone asking the question about whether it’s time for him to go.
“Today, he answered a lot of questions about if he’s got the drive to mentally prepare a team.
“He delivered today.”

It remains to be seen whether Wenger will still be in charge at Arsenal next season, as he current contract expires this summer.
