Arsenal are ready to rival Chelsea FC and Real Madrid for Benfica striker Luka Jovic, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet Marca, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Arsenal are interested in a potential summer deal for Jovic, who is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica.
The same article states that Unai Emery has been impressed by Jovic after the striker scored 21 goals in 32 games this term, which has earned him the nickname of the “Serbian Falcao”.
According to the same story, Arsenal are preparing for Danny Welbeck’s exit in the summer when the England international’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Marca add that Arsenal’s bitter rivals Chelsea FC are monitoring Jovic, while Champions League holders Real Madrid have also been linked with the Benfica star.
Emery is thought to be eager to add to his attacking options despite having Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in their squad already.
Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table and a point behind Manchester United, who occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.
The north London side will welcome Manchester United to The Emirates next Sunday in a shootout for fourth place in the English capital.
Arsenal haven’t finished in the top four in the last two Premier League seasons.
