Arsene Wenger insists that he is focused on strengthening his Arsenal squad this summer as he aims to propel the north London club onto further success next season.
The 64-year-old Frenchman signed a new three-year contract with the north London club on Friday to extend his stay at Emirates Stadium to 2017.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including former captain Cesc Fabregas and Toulouse defender Serge Aurier.

And Wenger, who led the Gunners to FA Cup glory and a fourth-place finish this term, has stressed the importance of securing a number of key signings to help Arsenal push forward next season.
“We know we have to have a successful June and July, that’s where you strengthen the team,” Wenger told Arsenal’s website.
“It’s very important that we are good now in the next two months until the end of August, that we can give to the team some more quality and go into next season with the belief we got from [the FA Cup] win.”
Wenger also believes that his side’s FA Cup success can be a springboard towards future success.
He added: “It’s time for another [great Arsenal team to emerge]. It’s the start of a new team and I believe [the FA Cup] victory was crucial in that belief.
“We have shown signs the whole season that we can be a great side and now it’s [important] of course to have another successful season.”
