Glenn Hoddle has described Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as “different class” ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United on Monday night.
The Gabon international has made an impressive start to the Premier League season following a return of seven goals in seven games in all competitions for the Gunners.
Aubameyang netted Arsenal’s late winner in a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa at The Emirates in the Premier League last weekend to leave the Gunners star at the top of the goal-scoring charts.
The 30-year-old will be hoping to continue his prolific form when Arsenal take on their bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Former Spurs boss Hoddle lavished praise on Aubameyang ahead of the Premier League clash.
“This fella [Aubamayang] is different class,” Hoddle is quoted as saying by Metro.
“How many of those players at United would get into any other team in Europe? I’m not so sure. Pogba at his very best maybe but anyone else I’m not sure. Maguire, possibly.
“Aubameyang would walk into any team. Any team!”
Manchester United suffered a 2-0 loss to West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend to leave the Red Devils three points adrift of their top-four rivals Arsenal.
The Gunners started the Premier League weekend in fourth place following their thrilling 3-2 win over promoted side Aston Villa last time out at The Emirates.
Ex-Spurs boss Hoddle believes there will be plenty of goals in the Premier League clash.
“It’s got goals written all over it because there’s attacking players and creative players on both sets of teams, without a doubt,” Hoddle added.
“But I think United’s defence will slightly outdo Arsenal’s. That could be a 2-2 draw, it could be a 4-3. I’m not sure which way it will go.
“Arsenal at the end will have the emphasis to go forward and I think United will look to hit on the break.
“But that depends… if Arsenal score first, what do they do? Can they hang on to a 1-0? No. The old ‘1-0 to the Arsenal’ has gone out the window years ago so I think there’s goals.”
Arsenal finished one spot above Manchester United in the Premier League table last term as both clubs missed out on a Champions League qualification place.
