Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has hit back at Arsene Wenger by accusing his Arsenal counterpart of “always complaining”.
The Gunners manager questioned Chelsea’s decision to allow Juan Mata to join Premier League rivals Manchester United, with the Spaniard set to undergo a medical ahead of the move.
Wenger, whose side are top of the table, was unhappy after the Blues decided to sell the 25-year-old having already faced the Red Devils at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge this season and collecting four points.
If Wenger sells Ozil to Manchester United, in this moment I would be very happy, because he’s selling a very important player

“Wenger complaining is normal because he always does. It’s something that we know,” Mourinho told a news conference.
“When a player plays for a club on 20 August and two weeks later, on 5 September plays against the same club with a different shirt, this is normal because it is the market.
“We don’t do the market, we do the rules. We act according to the rules.
“If Wenger sells Mesut Ozil to Manchester United, in this moment I would be very happy, because he’s selling a very important player. I’m not concerned with other things.
“Normally he should be happy that Chelsea sold Juan Mata to Manchester United, but I think this is his nature and we have to accept the way it is.”
Mourinho added that the Gunners shouldn’t be complaining after being handed a kind FA Cup fixture on Friday, whilst Chelsea have the inconvenience of playing on Sunday ahead of next week’s Premier League fixtures.
“When he says this is not fair, I say what is not fair is his team always have the best base to play,” added Mourinho.
“In the League Cup, we have to play 24 hours [after a game], they had 72 hours.
“This week – a week without a midweek game – what everyone wants to do is play early to have rest for the next week.
“One team plays Friday, one team plays Sunday. This is not fair. It’s never fair because they always get the right time to rest.”
