Brendan Rodgers has challenged Liverpool to play better football but continue their winning run.
The 40-year-old has implemented an attractive brand of football at the Merseyside outfit which was very much the hallmark of the Northern Irishman’s much-lauded Swansea City side.
Rodgers was critical of Liverpool’s performance against Crystal Palace despite the Premier League’s second-placed club running out comfortable 3-1 winners against Ian Holloway’s men.
And the Reds manager is confident there is still plenty of room for improvement ahead of a difficult clash against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday.
“We’ll get better as we grow together more,” Rodgers told a pre-match media conference.
“The Premier League is very difficult. I don’t just like to get three points – I worry about playing well and in a certain way. That’s how I’ve always been.
“But I can’t take anything away from how we’ve been so far in terms of results. It’s difficult to get three points in the most competitive league in the world.”
He added: “It shows you how much growth that I think there is in a team that we can win 3-1 but I still come away a little bit dissatisfied with our performance.
“What I can’t argue with is the work of the players; how humble they are; how willing they are to come into training every day and be better.
“I’ve got a great group here that I think we will get better.”
