Jamie Redknapp heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies for his performance in Sunday’s 2-1 win against Manchester United.

The Wales international started at left-back in the absence of Danny Rose and the defender played a big hand in Tottenham’s opening goal.

Davies’ cross found Victor Wanyama and the Kenya midfielder broke the deadlock with a powerful header past Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.

Spurs extended their lead in the second half when Harry Kane scored his 22nd goal of the 2016-17 Premier League season thanks to a deft flick to get on the end of Christian Eriksen’s free-kick.

But Redknapp singled out Davies for special praise for his performance at left-back as Tottenham were 2-1 winners against Manchester United in their final game at White Hart Lane.

“Wanyama is too strong for rooney. Davies deserves credit. he deserves special credit. they’ve barely missed Rose,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
