Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Paul Pogba is likely to be fit and ready to feature for Manchester United in their crunch clash with Celta Vigo in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The French midfielder has sat out the Red Devils’ last two games due to injury but is in line to make his return when they take on the Spanish side in the first leg of their semi-final clash this week.

Pogba has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United team this season following his big-money transfer back to the Old Trafford club from Juventus last summer.

And Mourinho is expecting to have the 24-year-old back available for selection when he takes his side to Spain on Thursday night.

Mourinho told BT Sport before Sunday’s clash with Swansea: “I think Paul Pogba will be ready for the next match [against Celta Vigo].”

He added: “We fight with everything we have and to be honest we are enjoying fighting for two objectives with a month to go.”

Manchester United know that winning the Europa League this season would secure their place in the Champions League for next term.

The Red Devils finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last term, before Mourinho was brought in back in May.
