Pepe Reina has quashed reports linking the Liverpool goalkeeper with a summer switch to Barcelona and has pledged his future to the Reds.
The Spain international, who has three years remaining on his current contract at Anfield, has been heavily linked with a move to the newly-crowned La Liga champions.
The 30-year-old has endured a mixed season by his high standards after a number of high-profile mistakes at the beginning of the campaign before improving in 2013.
And Reina, who started his career at Barcelona in 1999, insists he wants to help Brendan Rodgers’ men improve on their Premier League position next season.
“I have my own contract with Liverpool for three more years,” Reina told Sky Sports News. “Nothing has changed.
“If so, we want to make it bigger and my future is with Liverpool.
“Right now, about Barça, there are only rumours and only people talking about possibilities. There are no facts. I cannot talk further on that.”
Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has previously stated that he intends to leave the Camp Nou outfit when his contract expires at the of the 2013-14 campaign.
The Spaniard had been linked with a move away from the champions this summer, but Reina expects his compatriot to see out his Barcelona deal before leaving.
Reina added: “Victor has said he will not move from Barcelona and wants to fulfil his contract, and that must be respected.”
