Marouane Fellaini states his prediction for Man United v Ajax

Marouane Fellaini has warned his Manchester United team-mates that they are in for a stern test when they take on Ajax in the Europa League final later this month.

The Red Devils secured their spot in the final in Stockholm thanks to their nervy aggregate win over Celta Vigo at Old Trafford next week.

With Manchester United currently in fifth place in the Premier League table, it is looking increasingly unlikely that Jose Mourinho’s men will secure a spot in the top four.

That means that winning the Europa League is their most likely route into next season’s Champions League.

But Manchester United midfielder Fellaini has warned that they will have their work cut out against Ajax in Sweden on 24 May.

Speaking to MUTV, Fellaini said: “Ajax are a big club with a lot of history and a lot of talented players have played there.

“At this moment they have young, talented players with energy.

“We watched the first leg of Ajax against Lyon and they ran everywhere. It will be tough but we are experienced players.

“I think the experience is always important. We have a good mix which is good for us and we know how to play against them. Let’s see what happens on 24 May.”
