Summer business is crucial for Manchester United after a disappointing 15th-place Premier League finish last season.
Ruben Amorim has been under pressure during his tenure as Manchester United boss, but has been trusted to remain at the helm for the time being.
The Red Devils have already acquired one new signing this transfer window, bringing Matheus Cunha to Old Trafford for a reported £62.5m.
Having signed Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee for the striker role in recent years, two less-than-impressive starts to life in a United shirt have left the club searching the market once again.
Manchester United interested in Christopher Nkunku
One player that Manchester United have reportedly got their eye on as an attacking option is Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku.
According to L’Equipe, the Red Devils have opened up talks with Nkunku’s entourage and are sounding out a potential deal.

Nkunku joined Chelsea with massive potential back from RB Leipzig in 2023, having seriously impressed during his time in the Bundesliga.
38 appearances and just six goals later, though, it seems as though the Frenchman may need to leave West London in order to revive his once promising career.
Manchester United could be a potential suitor, with the club in need of a revival themselves after a torrid time last term.
Manchester United fans aren’t too excited by the potential Nkunku signing
Despite a need to address their issues in the attacking third, it seems as though Manchester United fans would like to see their club sign a different name to Nkunku.
The Red Devils’ faithful have taken to X to criticise the news, with one user stating: “Not for me this one, unwanted by Chelsea, injury prone, poor Premier League record.”
Another fan commented on his less-than-ideal injury record, adding: “We already had one of the worst injury records last season… why do you want to add another injury-prone player to the list?”
Some users are pointing out that business between Manchester United and Chelsea hasn’t always gone to plan, with one fan saying: “We gave them millions for Mason Mount and they didn’t have the decency to keep Sancho.
“Now we want to give them more money?”
Whether Manchester United make a formal approach for Nkunku remains to be seen, but if they are to pursue the Frenchman, it may take some getting used to for the fans.
