Victor Valdes has broken his silence on Instagram after Louis van Gaal told the goalkeeper to train away from his Manchester United team-mates earlier this week.

The Spain international has been out-of-favour under the Dutchman this season after the United boss claimed that Valdes had refused to play for their Under-21 side towards the end of the 2014/15 season.

Earlier this week, Van Gaal has ordered the goalkeeper to train away from the first-term under the guidance of United’s youth team coaches, with David De Gea and Sergio Romero vying for the number one spot.

And the Spain international has been working with the help of United Academy coach Alan Fettis, and the experienced shot stopper thanked the former Northern Ireland international and Red Devils supporters for their backing.

Valdes wrote on his Instagram page: “4.00 pm. Done! training session finish for today. Thanks Alan Fettis for help me everyday with your work. Tomorrow Again ! Thanks everybody for your Support.”

The 31-year-old goalkeeper moved to United in a free transfer after he left Barcelona in 2014.
