Ashley Cole, Juan Iturbe and Francesco Totti were among the Roma stars that pitted their wits against tennis stars Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki on Monday.
Some members of the Roma squad went along to the opening day of the Rome Masters to watch some of the action and hit with the world number one Djokovic and US Open runner-up Wozniacki.
Home favourite Flavia Pennetta also joined her fellow tennis professionals as the two sports came together for charity at Foro Italico this evening.
The organisers of the event, Roma Cares and the Internazionali BNL d’Italia tennis tournament, will donate all proceeds from the evening to charitable organisations working to help disadvantaged children.
Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender Cole appeared to have a decent double-handed backhand as the England centurion joined up with Caroline Garcia.
Judging by the relaxed expression on her face, Dane Wozniacki appeared at ease amongst some of Italian football’s biggest names.
Roma legend Totti and Wimbledon champion Djokovic had their own John McEnroe moment as they questioned a line call during the charity match.
Cole and Totti were joined by Iturbe, who has been linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool, as well as Roma players Alessandro Florenzi and Radja Nainggolan.
